things lookin up on all fronts, gettin' happy and happier. except school/health stuff that should matter but strangely doesn't. studio was hectic/fun shows soon, can't wait to do things such as go back to mandeville and start my job. new tattoo, pretty cool but kinda weird. found my place in br i reckon friends are good and wild. getting into lost, oh god. questioning if i'll see a classroom again. told parents living at home next year. no use getting apt. when i'm going to be gone most of the time. havent been sleeping in my bed, just on my couch, tv is a comfort. cat keeps company a lot.

celebrated hailees birthday 2 nights in a row, big adventure spent 4 days non stop with joey, first time hanging out in a long time put out the cd, glad to be done been a lot happier lately, people notice it saw hell's bridge or something, scary wore old shoes today, felt weird workshop all day tomorrow superstoked on moving to br got a cut from a flatbread dayton threw at me while making wraps, it's ok though, the wraps were amazing

cd's done. it's been putting me in the worst mood ever because the music is too absorbing. but to prove my satisfaction, i'll say this much. it's the first cd i've made i would buy myself.f

hey, this is jasper from your 9am music 151 class. i was the one that briefly talked to you after class yesterday.
i didn't want to keep you after class but i wanted to ask why you kept referring back to elements of music, however little there may have been, in the music we heard today, and if you think it's really necessary to have any elements of music for a piece to be called music. i don't mean to rant, but in my opinion the point of music is as aural art, and the point of art can be anything the artist wants to express, as long as he puts a (metaphorical or literal) frame around it. as long as an artist intends to make art and separates it from a natural daily occurence by way of a frame, it should be concidered legit art, in my opinion. your example of the truck driving by and being able to make it art by putting it behind a stage with drums playing didn't make sense to me, because i think it would still be considered music if you put the truck behind a stage by itself, because the setting of people attending the venue for an auditory experience, i.e. concert would put the frame around it. the difference between a minimalist painting with 1 dot of black paint on it, and a black spot of paint on a wall is the frame.
i'm sorry for the rant and taking up your time, but i felt compelled to express myself.

It’s not like I’ve never heard anything before, I only lost my hearing in the last 5 years. People treat me as if I’m desensitized, like I’ve never heard music before. I still remember songs from when I was little, playing them over and over in my head. The only downfall of being deaf when it comes to music is I can’t hear anything new to get stuck in my head. I make up melodies in my head, but I’m sure if I tried to hum them out loud it would sound like a goddamnjohn cage song.
Another misconception about being deaf is that I am undeniably openhanded and generous, given that I’ve had tough times where I’ve needed people’s help and I’m forever in debt to society. No, saying I’m an asshole would be far closer to the truth.

last night we played a show (real monsters) with ostinato at the neutral ground coffee house and it was fucking weird. all the old people loved us, even though we're a noise band and all the younger people walked out. dad's gone again for who knows how long, means more freedom and less grumpy. going to art brut tonight alone, but hanging out there with rad nola people. dayton is talking nonstop about getting too drunk last night. i missed the big party with the 2 story beer bong. i wish i didn't worry about hurting people and could tell everyone everything outright. i guess i'm just too nice.
